Ireland’s biotech ecosystem is getting a new home for connection and collaboration with the launch of DUBLIN BIO – an inaugural networking event bringing together founders, researchers, investors, and industry leaders shaping the future of life sciences in Ireland.

Taking place at The Vaults @ Dogpatch Labs, CHQ Building, Dublin, on 22 of October, 2025, the evening will blend networking, discussion, and inspiration, spotlighting the entrepreneurial energy driving Ireland’s fast-growing biotech sector.

The event will open with a fireside chat featuring Mark Barrett, co-founder and CEO of APC and VLE Therapeutics, who will share his journey of starting and scaling one of Ireland’s most successful biopharma companies.

A panel discussion will follow, bringing together leading voices from the investment community – Georgina Murphy (Ireland Strategic Investment Fund) and Caroline Gaynor (Lightstone Ventures, IVCA Chairperson) – to discuss the progress, challenges, and opportunities within Ireland’s biotech ecosystem.

Together, they’ll explore how the community can continue to grow, attract investment, and accelerate innovation in the sector.

The event is sponsored by Aerska, a new Irish biotech company developing RNA-based therapies for neurological diseases. Following its recent $21M seed round, Aerska will share insights into the latest advances in ‘brain shuttle’ technologies that enable medicines to reach the central nervous system (CNS) – a major frontier in modern therapeutics.

DUBLIN BIO draws inspiration from LONDON BIO, a community-driven biotech series launched in 2023 by Backed VC and Jack O’Meara. The Dublin edition aims to replicate that success by fostering collaboration, visibility, and knowledge-sharing across Ireland’s vibrant biotech and life sciences landscape.
