About
I am a Senior Scientist at the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI) at the University of Galway. My research focus on developing novel stem cell therapies in combination with biomaterials or microRNAs for the treatment of diabetic health complications including diabetic wound ulcers and also to treat muscle wasting due to ischaemia. My work has a translational focus, and therefore we have regular interactions with cell manufacturers at the Centre for Cell Manufacturing Ireland (CCMI) and regulatory experts. Our aim is to bring lab-based research into clinical trials.
