In my role I assist with the scientific, operational and strategic management of the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI) in University of Galway. This entails supervising and mentoring research students, carrying out laboratory-based research, grant writing and providing financial, administrative support, reporting and personnel management as required. I also assist closely in interactions with the Good Manufacturing Practices Facility (Centre for Cell Manufacturing Ireland), the Galway Health Research Board Clinical Research facility where cell therapy clinical trials are ongoing and the Galway Blood and Tissue Establishment. I am also involved with the management of the REMEDI Seminar Series, the REMEDI Executive Management Committee meetings and identifying new research opportunities that will contribute to the development of bids that will progress the activities of REMEDI and the Centre for Cell Manufacturing Ireland. I represent the research activities of REMEDI at local, national and international events as required.
