About

The McClean lab in the UCD Conway Institute focuses on exploiting host pathogen interactions to discover and develop novel anti-bacterial vaccines and therapies. We have a strong interest in vaccinology and vaccine development and have a track record in innovation and commercialisation of our research.
We have identified several effective vaccine antigens against both respiratory and enteric pathogens. We are investigating and developing treatments to combat chronic lung infections.
Siobhán McClean is the coordinator of the Horizon 2020 Innovative Training Network, BactiVax and the coordinator of an All-island Vaccine Research and training Alliance, in collaboration with QUB, UCC and TCD and funded by the HEA North-South Programme.
