Trinity College Dublin’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, in collaboration with the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT), announced the Inaugural Don Panoz Distinguished Lecture to take place on October 24, 2023 in Regent House, Trinity College Dublin at 4:00pm.

This year’s lecture, titled “Hearts and Knees: Cellular Therapies in Cardiac and Musculoskeletal Applications,” will be delivered by Professor Frank Barry from the University of Galway.

Professor Barry is a Professor of Cellular Therapy at the University of Galway and Principal Investigator at the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI). His career has spanned both industry and academic research, and he has been an instrumental driver in the development of cellular therapy as a biological repair strategy by developing innovative and successful cellular therapies for the treatment of acute joint injury and arthritic disease. This has included the generation of a large body of new data in ground-breaking preclinical studies and has led to the first phase of clinical testing of mesenchymal stem cells in clinical trials for joint injury.
